Role management
| Administrators have the option to manage the default settings at the role level, to which they can then assign users regardless of group and access level. |
|---|
By default, three roles are visible in the system according to the access level, but this list can be extended at any time. Modifications made in the role managemnt page, will overwrite the default settings.
How to create roles and assign to users
The creature is pretty easy, just give a name and a priortity between 0 and 10000 and press save. The roles will be sorted depending on the priority. Default settings and assigned users can be managed for each of the manually created roles after clicking on the Details option.
While modifying the default settings section, make sure to use the extended view, where all the tabs are available. Using the simplified list will only let you modify 4 basic settings.
Last but not least, the user assignement to the role will be located on the bottom of the page. Click the Save button to save your changes.
Evaluation of the roles
- The strongest is the individual change used within the default settings, which can be at individual or group level
- The second in line is the evaluation by roles, the changes defined on this page can only override the settings defined at company level (for the root element) (e.g. → Web access is allowed at company level (on the default settings page), but I manage to disallow this permission for the employee role (roles page), the following will happen
If a user is assigned to least two different roles, than the one with higher priority will be evaluated.
- The last in the order of strength are the settings defined in the default settings at company level.
